Judi Kellar grew up in a small East Tennessee town where she started singing in church at age 5. Her Dad was a local Baptist minister and pastor, and she was always exposed to the traditional sounds of southern gospel music during her childhood days. She realized early in her life as a young lady that singing was her No. 1 passion and what she truly loves to do.
Judi accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at age 11, and she continued to sing solos at church, school plays, and other events during her teenage years. When she was around age 16, she formed a female trio known as The Sisters Three, who sang in local churches and also on her Dad’s Sunday radio broadcast. By age 18, she was performing on local television talent shows in Knoxville, TN, and was also voted “Most Talented” by her Senior Class.
Judi’s heart and soul has always been grounded in her love for Christian music. Even though she has always sang solos at church, for weddings, funerals, and other special events, she has always felt the tug on her heart that God wanted her to do more with her God-given talent.
In 2002 Judi was able to record her first debut solo project, entitled “Amazing Love,” which includes several original southern gospel songs and also some classics such as “I’m Feeling Fine” and “Then Came the Morning”. Her first original single, “That City of Gold”, written by Sherry Chandler Haynes, was released for national radio play in March 2003, and received considerable airplay. Judi’s second single, “Amazing Love”, was released in early 2004 and distributed to over 750 Christian radio stations for national airplay.
A few years ago, God opened the doors for Judi to record her second Christian music project at Daystar Music Group in Knoxville, TN; she entitled this album “Heart Songs” since most of the songs truly speak to her heart and hopefully to others. The “Heart Songs” album collection includes a wonderful variety of southern gospel classics such as “I’d Rather Have Jesus,” “Through the Fire,” and “Midnight Cry!” This album also includes several of the songs that Judi is currently singing in her church concerts and other events.
Judi’s Christmas CD, released in December 2016, is entitled Christmas Joy! The album includes many Christmas favorites like “Mary Did You Know” and “O Holy Night.” Judi also included some newer more contemporary songs like “Heaven Everywhere” and “I Need a Silent Night”! One of her absolute favorite songs on this CD is a song about a little boy asking “Where’s the Line to See Jesus?,” while he is in line at the mall with his family waiting to see Santa. This song will truly melt your heart!
Judi’s latest project, Walking By Faith, was released in June 2022, which includes several dynamic original songs! Two of her original songs, “That’s What My Mercy’s For”, and “There Was Never A Man Like Jesus”, have been released as radio singles for national air play!
Judi’s mission is to lift up and magnify Jesus Christ through her music, see people come to know Him as their Lord and Savior, and to be an encouragement to other Believers in their Christian walk with the Lord.
